VI 2002
(jointly with AI 2002 and GI 2002 )

15th International Conference on Vision Interface

May 27-29, 2002, Calgary, Canada
www.visioninterface.net/vi2002

Special Issue of Image and Vision Computing Journal featuring twelve selected and extended VI 2002 papers is now published and can be accessed online from here.

Vision Interface is the oldest (since 1977) annual conference on computer vision, image processing and pattern recognition hold  in Canada, which in 2004 was renamed to Canadian Conference on Computer and Robot Vision (CRV). It is sponsored by Canadian Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Society (CIPPRS) and International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

Format and scope:

VI 2002 is a single-track conference consisting of high quality, previously unpublished papers, presented either orally or as a poster. Contributions are sought on any aspect of computer vision, image processing or pattern recognition, including but not restricted to the following topics:

Image Segmentation, Texture, Illumination
Shape, Surface geometry
Calibration and Rectification
Motion and Video Analysis, Optical Flow
Stereo Vision, Depth, 3D Scene Analysis
Active and Real-time Vision
Object, Event, and Scene Recognition
Face and Gesture Recognition
Document Processing and Handwriting Recognition
Learning and Classification Methods in Vision
Biological and Psychological aspects of Vision
Neural Networks for Vision and Image Understanding
Computer Vision for HCI and Computer Graphics
Image databases and Multi-Media Applications
Biomedical and Robotics Applications

The conference provides an excellent environment for interdisciplinary interaction as well as for networking of students and scientists in computer vision and image understanding.
In addition to regular sessions, there will be also invited sessions and an industry session.
Two awards: for the best paper and for the best student paper, will be presented.

Special Issue of Image and Vision Computing Journal covering the International Conference on Vision Interface will be published. The Program Committee will select the best papers, the authors of which be invited to produce an enhanced version of the manuscript suitable for an archival journal. Once the manuscripts are received, they will be reviewed again by at least two international referees.

REGISTRATION:

  • For a single registration fee participants can attend presentations at either of AI/GI/VI conferences.
  • This conference promotes participation of students by reducing significantly the student registration fee. Students may also apply for the registration fee waiver.
  • There is a major reduction in registration fee for CIPPRS members. CIPPRS welcomes members from all countries. You can register at CIPPRS website.
